I need to find out if there are any other birds that can live in the same cage as a finch?
We have a huge cage in our back yard with only four tiny finches in it. My children would like to get more colorful birds, but we are not sure if we can.

It depends on what type of finches you have. Some breeds can not co-exist together. If you would like to add colorful finches Gouldian finches I suggest. Just do not mix your finches with hookbills because they will bite the toes off finches
Some Do not work well. Check with a bird shop or better yet a breeder. So get a copy of “Bird Talk” at your bookstore, you will get the best info. from the pros
Solely it depends on the type of finch. I have had co-exist with zebra finches budgies quite successfully. Check with local pet store or breeder.
I’m pretty sure canaries and any other kind of finch can. at my grandmas assisted living apartments they have them in the same cage. ask a Veternarian to be sure.
