Why do cats and dogs twitch in their sleep?
When my dog is deeply asleep, she makes these yelping sounds and her arms and legs twitch heavily. I don’t know if it’s a dog thing or what. A couple times I’ve seen my cat’s paw twitch but otherwise my cats don’t do anything unusual in their sleep.

They dream just like we do, only it seems like they get “into” dreams more than we do. I think it’s cute.
Just like humans, cats and dogs also have dreams. A lot of times our dreams are like a training ground for how we react to emergent situations. The animal is probably moving in it’s dreams therefore it would make sense that it would jerk in it’s sleep.

i think they are just dreaming. if they seem distressed you can say “good girl/boy”. they will either calm down or wake up.

they are dreaming. all animals dream, believe it or not. i ahve alot of rabbits and some of them twitch their feet in their sleep. its so cute
hi it is because they dream we have a springer spaniel who kinda trys to run and sometimes barks in her sleep lol its funny to watch and makes me think how smart are dogs ? do you have any dogs ?
