my just barely 4 month old cocker spaniel?
My cocker spaniel just 4 months and he had his anal glands expressed at the Vet today. is this something that he will most likely always have a problem with throughout his life? So could this be the reason why he does not have do # 2 a lot. I forgot to ask the vet these questions.
Change him to a high quality holistic food and this problem will probably disappear completely.
Hopefully he will not have this problem all his life. My 9 year old cocker anal gland does have “issues” and needs them expressed about once a month. Which dogs have bad allergies tend to have more of a problem with this. It goes hand-in-hand with skin allergies and ear problems. You could then have them expressed when he is at the groomer. Most groomers offer this service and you will need to have him groomed about every two months.
