I picked this tid bit about the various substrates for your type of reptile. Ball pythons do extremely well on either aspen bedding or on newspaper. Both are easy to maintain at a satisfactory level of hygiene. Ball pythons can be successfully applied to a variety of substrates, including potting soil, clean gravel, cypress bark chips and carpet will be held, although some more care is required to maintain an adequate level of cleanliness and smell of these substrates. ~ You can access the website at the fund for further information taking into account you’re probably the first time snake Torhüter.Hope this helps!

Yes, you can
I used aspen bedding and I get better results in maintaining the humidity royal python with linen, which are designed for tropical / semi tropical snakes such as pythons. Fir Bark, Repti-bark, cypress mulch cypress bed and even that can operate at hardware stores for very cheap are pretty easily found. I’ve never personally the ink in the newspaper very familiar. Some aspen, which are meant for small mammals may pine or other woods mixed in them that are poisonous snakes. Buyer beware on some of these small mammals aspen and ensure that they are 100% pure aspen before them for snakes.
